Our knowledge of this genus and the succeeding two genera, as well as various others of Koch's genera noticed in this work, is confined to what we gather from his Ubersicht; and its meagre- ness is not to be ascribed to us, but to the source whence we have drawn it. Genus Smaris. Distinguished by the absence of palpi. Its skin is clothed with papillse like Smaridia, and some of the Trombidii. Smaris expalpis {^Koch).
