A Viking sword, Northern Europe, 9th/10th century. Straight, double-edged blade with shallow fullers over its entire length on both sides. Strong quillons of lenticular shape. Tapering tang with a riveted pommel worked in two pieces. Pommel and quillons show vestiges of fine silver and copper wire inlays. Cleaned and conserved archaeological find.
