Vezelay Abbey


Vézelay is a commune in the Yonne department in Burgundy in north-central France. It is a defendable hill town famous for Vézelay Abbey. The town and the famous 11th century Romanesque Basilica of St Magdelene are designated UNESCO World Heritage basilica is at the top of a steep hill and free electric buses carry those who don't want to walk.
