The facade of historical Koder House, a mansion structured and gabled in Europe before shipped to Fort Cochin in India to be reassembled. The stately house, characterized by its maroon façade, is listed by Intach (the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage). Settled by the Moors, Portuguese, Dutch, Jewish, Chinese, Arab and British, the cosmopolitan town of Fort Cochin is one of south India's premium tourist destinations. A string of colonial era mansions being transformed into boutique hotels is now reinventing the town’s lodging scene.
