A native of Wisconsin, he was bornApril 3, i860, in the city of Milwaukee,a son of Matthias and Josephine (Havra-nek) Wattawa, natives of Bohemia, thefather born in Milin, in 1818, the motherin the village of Postezof, in 1820. Theywere married in Bohemia in 1837, andcame to the United States about the year1855, making their first New-World homein Milwaukee. In i860, just after thebirth of their son John, they moved toKewaunee, where the family have sincemade their home, the only death beingthat of the much-beloved wife and mother,who passed from earth in 1892, leavingei
