A Navy SH-60 Seahawk helicopter practices lifting off and landing from the USS Kearsarge, Jan. 30. The Kearsarge keeps a compliment of Seahawks on board for search and rescue operations. The SAR team is scheduled to conduct drills to maintain proficiency in saving lives and be on stand-by as needed to support to Exercise Bold Alligator 2012. The two-week exercise is the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years and represents the Navy and Marine Corps’ revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations.
