St Mary’s Church, Strata Florida, Ystrad Fflur, Pontrhydfendigaid, Tregaron. West end seen through a curtain of autumn leaves. Anglican parish churc
Anglican parish church. The church was rebuilt in its present form in 1815, replacing a plain, low and barn-like church shown in 1741 view of abbey ruins. Repaired 1875 and again in 1914 by Bassett, for £211. The church includes stone from the abbey ruins. It lies within a large, irregularly-shaped churchyard to the North of Strata Florida Abbey. The original church building is thought to have been the chapel belonging to the abbey. It consists of nave and chancel with a bellcote over its windowless west end.
