Storing Poles for Easy Loading The Western Ohio Railway has built a pole storageat Wapakoneta, Ohio, adjacent to its right-of-way,which greatly facilitates the loading and unloading of. This arrangement con-sists of a number of piles driven into the ground, withold girder rail laid across the top of them to form asupport on which the poles can be rolled. This placesthe poles on about the same level above the ground asthe flat cars used in hauling them. It is therefore avery simple matter to lay short pieces of rail from thepiles nearest the track across to the car floor and rollthe poles from the storage structure to the car.
