A memorial dedicated to those who have been killed or injured in the course of their work.
Glasgow City Council and the STUC have unveiled a custom made memorial dedicated to those who have been killed or injured in the course of their work. The memorial was commissioned to highlight the preventable nature of most workplace accidents and ill health, and to support campaigns promoting improvements in workplace safety. The design was chosen following a number of ideas put forward by students from Glasgow Secondary Schools at the last Art Summer School at Castle Toward on the Isle of Bute. The memorial has been constructed with a black and purple theme to closely reflect the colour scheme associated with the International Workers' Memorial Day.
