Decaying cruiser awaiting scrapping. Rust and flaking paint on a section of the hulk of the 180-metre-long cruiser Colbert (C611), formerly of the French navy. Launched in 1956, it was commissioned in 1959. The ship briefly saw active service in the 1991 Gulf War before being decommissioned in 1991. From 1993 to 2007 it was a museum ship. It was then mothballed at the Landevennec ship graveyard, and finally scrapped in 2016 at Bassens. Photographed in July 2015, at Landevennec, Brittany, France.
