A Field of Sunflowers near The Baronville Estate, Béville-le-Comte, France

The Baronville Estate is one of the largest private historical estates in the Paris Area. Around the Château, one can see the Carrousel, the farm, several stables and cottages. The estate is based on two main traditional activities: forestry and agriculture. The Château de Baronville is a nineteenth-century building, rebuilt in the Louis XIII style by the Marquis de Pomereu d'Aligre on the foundations of a castle from 1623. It is a private property, straddling the communes of Béville-le-Comte and Oinville-sous-Auneau, owned by the descendants of the marquis. The Baronville carousel, also private, served as a stables and model farm for Baronville Castle. We are managing both in the most sustainable way, as we have been here for generations and would ideally want the generations to come to enjoy and admire it like we did, if not better. Both forestry and agriculture are managed according the principles of organic farming.
