Whilst living in Stratford Upon Avon in the 1990's I was told that William Shakespeare was born in a house which was located in the centre of today's Bridge Street. Bridges St is very wide and was in fact two streets during Shakespeare's time. So where the traffic island is visible in this image, a row of houses once existed and Shakespeare was born in one of the houses that were located there (and not in the famous Shakespeare's birthplace on Henley Street visited annually by thousands of tourists.)
