Here is a story that will illustrate this point: There was an extremely clever grower of a certain variety of plant. He grew them better than anybody else. He sold them so cheaply that they bare- ly paid cost and left nothing over to lay by for a rainy day. He was hit hard by the war. His place required improve- ments. He had no reserve. He went out of business. Today the market price of the plant he grew so well and sold so cheaply is four times as much as it was three years ago, when he ruled the mar- ket. This is out of all proportion to the advance in cost of labor and material.
