MODEL RELEASED. Inflamed cornea. Bloodshot eye of a 72-year-old woman with keratitis, an inflammation of the cornea. The cornea is the transparent layer covering the iris (blue) and pupil (black). An ulcer (grey spot on the iris below the pupil) has developed as a result of the inflammation. Other keratitis symptoms include pain, sensitivity to light (photophobia), excessive watering and vision blurring. For the eye after dyeing with fluorescin, see M155/605.
