Successfully engaged in ranching enter-prises in the vicinity of Nez Perce, William is decidedly a prominent and popular citi-zen in Lewis county, where he has resided for thepast eighteen years. He is a distinguished veteranof the Civil war, and since February, 1901, hasserved as United States commissioner in Idaho,which state has represented his home since 1884.
