An important aid to this workwas the recent acquisition by the University of a tract of about 180 acresof primitive woodland, containing numerous dry and wet caves and anunderground stream which can be traversed for over a mile. The situationis ideal for transplanting cave animals into the light and epigean formsinto the dark. Six papers on this subject have been published, and another.
