The Abbey church in the village of Cadouin in the Perigord Noir region of the Dordogne. It is on the Pilgrims' Route of St jacques de Compostelle .


The Abbey at Cadouin was founded in 1115. It later became a place of pilgrimage as it claimed to have a special relic - part of Christ's shroud, the Turin Shroud. This relic was eventaully dated to the 11th century and is of Egyptian origin. Cadouin is on the Pilgrim's route to St Jacques de Compostelle in Spain.
