The New Chichester District Museum, Now Called The Novium, Sits In Chichester’S Northwest Quadrant, Above West Street And The Medieval Cathedral. One Of Its Main Features Is That It Is Built Above The Remains Of Some Roman Baths, Dating From The Flavian Period. (69-96 Ad) The Baths Will Be Displayed In Situ In The Entrance Gallery, Becoming An Intrinsic Part Of The Museum, With The New Galleries Floating Above The Displayed Archaeology. The Museum Will Be Clad In Pale Reconstructed Stone, Establishing Its Architectural And Cultural Connection With The Tradition Of Chichester’S Grander Public Structures.
