An early 1900's photograph of the sailing ship MARGARET NIXON at Dock End, Whitby, -- Owned in Whitby by Matthew Peacock and John Wallis after registration in the town in March 1876. Originally built on the Tyne in 1861. She was considered a 'smart ship' .The 188 ton Brig was commanded by William Fletcher for nearly 30 years and originally had a gilt streak around her hull.
