A Milk-of-lime Reclaiming System.—In Fig. 14 is showna reclaiming method used in connection with a milk-of-limesystem. Gas and liquor from the digester A, after being cooledin the cooler B, are conducted to the bottom of the acid storagetank C, where the gas is partly absorbed. The unabsorbedgas leaves the top of the acid-storage tank and passes into thebottom of a reclaiming absorption tower D, in which it is absorbedby the acid coming from the acid system and entering at the topof the reclaiming tower. Any unabsorbed gas leaves the top ofthis tower and is mixed with the burner gas. Mmrpfias /fpparjfus. Fig. 14. 60. A Patented Reclaiming System.—In the patented reclaim-ing process shown in Fig. 15 in connection with the tower acidsystem, the liquor and gas from digester A pass through a separa-tor B; here the gas is separated from the liquor, which is cooledat C and stored at D, and the almost pure gas is cooled at H andenters the bottom of the recovery tower K. The weak liquorleaving the tank D passes a cooler E, and is mixed at F withthe weak acid, as this is being pumped to the strong-acid acid from the strong-acid tower L is pumped to the top of therecovery tower K, where it absorbs the relief gas, bringing thestrength of the cooking acid as it leaves the tower up to total S02. Since no base (lime or magnesia) is added inthe recovery tower, the combined SOo remains the same as in thetower acid. §4 PREPARATION OF THE COOKING ACID 37 The rest of the equipment shown in Fig
