Corn. 54 PRACTICAL CORN CULTURE Last year we plowed nearly seventy acres with one of these built up surface plows after the corn had started to tassel One field yielded ninety-four bushels to the acre. It was second-sod, having been in corn the previous year. These plows do better work than mower wheels, or plows made to run between the rows, because they do not cut the roots or bruise the stalks.
