Three oi four have come down themountain side and blocked tralbc. On one occasion arock three or four times as large as a street car camedown with a fall of 200 feet and lit on the track. Thelast one that fell was about 10 by 15 feet. Of coursethe only way to clear the track of these obstructions isto blast them away. .\ handsome new steel bridge has been built acrossCherry Creek, on Broadway, in Denver, and on thisstructure the Denyer Tramwa\ Compan\ has justlinished laying its tiacks. The bridge is 122 feet long. and 100 feet in width, of which sixt\ feet is given up tothe roadway and street railway tracks. The extremelength of the girders is 125 feet and the roadway ispaved with asphalt. Its entire weight is poundsand its cost was $50,000. NEW YORKS STANDARD RAIL. The Department of Public Works. New York City,has adopted as standard rail for use in that city, the sec-tion marked Fig. i.
