Inflamed skin nodules and hair loss (alopecia) on the scalp in an adult male patient with dissecting folliculitis, also known as perifolliculitis capitus abscedens et suffodiens. Folliculitis is a bacterial infection of the hair follicules forming nodules which in this case suppurate, join up, scar the skin, and progress to abscesses.
