Owens College, Manchester, Late 19th century. Founded in 1851, Owens College was created from a legacy of over £96,000 left by a wealthy industrialist, John Owens. It eventually became Manchester University. Black and White Illustration from Our Own Country Vol III published by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co. in the late 19th century.
