The Oil Fields of the Uni-ted States.—The Pennsylvaniafields produced all of the petroleumup to 1886, when the Lima, Ohio, field was discovered. The Indi-ana field was discovered in 1897;the Texas field, in 1901; the Califor-nia field, in 1903; the Oklahoma field, in 1905, and the Illinoisfield, in 1906.
