An Officer's smallsword, from the Reign of Louis-Phillipe (1830 - 1848). A slender triangular thrusting blade with the upper third bearing etched and gilded trophy decoration on a blued background. Fire-gilded, fine relief knucklebow hilt. The guard plate shows a Gallic rooster on martial trophies. Mother-of-pearl grip scales (restored?). Pommel in the shape of a rooster's head.
