STRAIT OF GIBRALTAR (Dec. 27, 2014) An MH-60S Seahawk from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28 takes off from the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) while the ship conducts an eastbound transit of the Strait of Gibraltar Dec. 27, 2014. Iwo Jima, deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group/24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (IWO ARG/24 MEU), is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
