A left hand dagger, Brescia, middle of the 17th century. Heavy single-edged blade with a double-edged point. The ricasso has chiselled volutes, embossed decorative circles, and an oval thumb rest on the obverse side. Extended spirally grooved quillons, one arm broken. Fine open work guard with chiselled and engraved vine decoration, and a turned under and perforated rim. Grip cover with replacement iron wire winding. Flattened ball pommel with decorative grooves.
