1921-The gambling game of put-and-take became popular in the UK using a tee-to-tum spinner (A teetotum (or T-totum) is a form of gambling spinning top) . Different versions with other instructions ( put one, take two, take all etc) became available. Its popularity came from the completely random outcome of each spin , no skill at all being required and the fact that it was equally suitable for children or families playing with counters or matchsticks, or for professional gamblers using incidentally was the name of a Victorian sports ground in Stamford Hill, London
