Embroidered coverlet ca. 1760–75 Ruth Culver Coleman American The coverlet is composed of three undyed linen panels seamed together, each approximately thirty-two inches wide. It is embroidered with wool in economy, stem, chain, and darning stitches. The wide floral border is embroidered in shades of blue; the central floral and fruit motifs are in shades of pink, brown, gold, lavender, and blue.
