Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George Lucas. It depicts the adventures of various characters "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away". The Star Wars Stamp Collection, designed by British artist Malcolm Tween, celebrate the British expertise behind the Star Wars films as each episode was made with a largely British cast and crew. The new film Star Wars: The Force Awakens was predominately shot at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire. Twin sister of Luke Skywalker, Leia escaped detection by her father, Darth Vader and became the leader of the Rebel Alliance, which eventually brought the destruction of the Empire.
