The Metropolitan Police Service, known as the MPS, is the London Police Service which polices London, England . The badge and whistle is part of the uniform carried by serving police officers. In the days before Radio, the Whistle was issued to police officers with the instruction to " Blow the whistle in the direction which you require assistance" This traditional part of the uniform is still worn today.
