Soudan, Minnesota - A sign marks a tornado shelter at the Soudan Underground Laboratory, where scientists research the fundamental structure of the universe. The lab is a half mile underground in an old iron ore mine. Even though the likelihood of tornado damage this far underground is slim, the University of Minnesota requries a shelter for any of its structures.
