International space station (ISS) seen from the Space Shuttle Endeavour after undocking. A Soyuz spacecraft (black, lower centre) is docked to the Zvezda Service Module, with the Zarya or Functional Cargo Block (FGB, just below centre) also seen. During Endeavour's mission (STS-97, 30 November to 11 December 2000), the ISS's 73-metre solar arrays (centre) were attached and unfolded. The ISS is a joint effort between NASA, the European Space Agency, the Russian space agency, Canada, Japan and Brazil. The space station has been manned since late 2000. Photographed on December 9.
