Zepp, engineer, died on October22, 1915, from stomach trouble, after an illnessof almost two months. He was sixty-four vearsold. Mr. Zepp commenced his service with theCompany in 1864 as a stable boy at MountClare. After serving in this position for sometime he was transferred to Baileys round-house as engine cleaner, and in 1870 was pro-moted to the position of passenger fireman, nothaving to serve any time on freight. Amongthe engineers for whom he fired are AbeIngalls, who is now pensioned, Charles Gallo-way Sr. (the grandfather of general managerC. W. Galloway), and Joshua Shipley. In 1885he was promoted to passenger engineer, a posi-tion which he held until the time of his death. Mr. Zepp was known to railroad men asGrover, a nickname he received when heran the train that carried Grover Cleveland toWashington for his inauguration as Presidentof the United States.
