Tulips were being placed in Eans. A little later 8,000 giganteum ulbs will be potted and several thou- sand rambler roses are yet to be taken in hand. A new propagating house, 10x100, with two side benches, will be completed this month, and early next month begonia propagation in it will commence in earnest. F. C—Ala. It is not easy, without seeing your plants and knowing the conditions un- der which they are grown, to determine the trouble. Paper Whites, as a rule, are considered among the simplest of plants to grow and flower, and they rarely cause any trouble. Have you used any manure, especially of chemical nature, in the compost or have you ap- plied any to stimulate the plants at any timet The writer is of the opinion that there must either be something wrong with the soil or something has been applied 'to cause the roots to decay. Paper Whites, after potting or after being placed in flats, can be safely stood out- doors or in a coldframe a
