The Parade, Crystal Palace, Sydenham, c1915. The Crystal Palace was built to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. The glass structure was dismantled and transported from Hyde Park in London, and rebuilt in an enlarged form on Penge Common, at the top of Penge Peak, Sydenham Hill.
