Atlantic Ocean ; breeding south of the equator, and migrating north in summer to South Carolina and northward. 6. Black-capped Petrel (98. ^strelata hasitdta). — A rare, southern, blackish-brown-backed petrel, with all lower parts and base of tail white. The otherwise white head is dis- tinctly capped with black and marked with a bar of black back of the eye. The tip of tail and the primaries are darker than the back.
