HOUSE FLY (Musca domestica) - OKLAHOMA - Populations increased in Stillwater area, Payne County^ (Okla. Coop. Sur.). ALABAMA - Populations in Auburn, Lee County, extremely high for time of year, (Buttram). HORN FLY (Haematobia irritans) - OKLAHOMA - Populations increased appreciably in Stillwater area, Payne Coionty; counts per head were 1,200 on bulls, 400-450 on cows and 400 on steers. Ranged 150-600 per head in northeastern area. (Okla. Coop. Sur.). NEBRASKA - Counts approxiamtely 25 per animal in Colfax County. (Bergman). OHIO - Ranged 50-200 per Holstein heifer in Erie County. Populations appeared moderate in Seneca and Wood Counties. (Lyon). A TABANID (Tabanus laticeps) - CALIFORNIA - Medium and causing considerable irritation to ranch cows in Lincoln, Placer County. (Cal. Coop. Rpt.). BLOODSUCKING CONENOSE (Triatoma protracta) - CALIFORNIA - Population heavy and invading ranch residence in Covelo, Mendocino County. Occupants bitten by this pest severely affected. (Cal. Coop. Rpt., Sept. 7). WHEEL BUG (Arilus cristatus) - VIRGINIA - Nymph collected at Fincastle, Botetourt County; caused pain and swelling to person bit. (Tarpley, Boitnott, Sept. 5).
