The Airshow is the only one in the world to be run by a school and St Jakobi Principal, Daryl Trigg says, “We are very proud to host the Barossa Airshow. It is an Airshow that is quite different in that we aim to cater for the whole family and we ensure that it is a cheap day out.” The Barossa Airshow first took to the skies in 1998 and has gone on to become a nationally recognised event. “This year we have pilots coming from overseas!!” says Steve Ahrens. Held on a 600 meter runway at Koch Rd, Rowland Flat there will be non-stop aerial entertainment, stalls, affordable food and drink, static displays, amusements for the kids and something for the whole family. Parking is free and entry is just $20 for Adults, $5 for Children or $50 for a family. The day starts at with a plethora of light aircraft flying in and is followed by the air display at Barossa Helicopters will be offering joy flights and the committee is indebted all sponsors of the event: Gold Wing Partner, Schild Estate Wines and Silver Wing Partners, The Recreational Pilots Academy, Kies Real Estate, Lyndoch Motors, Mortgage Choice, Fluid Plumbing, Gawler Art and Signs, Pauline Murray Accountants, Radoux, The Barossa Novotel, Barossa Living magazine, R and M Timbers, Charles Melton Wines, Lynas Valley Ford, Collotype Labels and Shell Aviation. There is much to see and do at the Barossa Airshow, so much in fact the content here can hardly do it justice. The day begins at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm. On the day you should be prepared to see aircraft from all vintage, old and new. Three of Australia's top aerobatic champions will be there giving displays that must be seen to believe. Helicopter rides will be run all day by local business Barossa Helicopters. There will be plenty to see in the air and on the ground too.
