My garden has this beautiful Camellia (Camellia Japonica), which bursts into flower in Winter every year. The Japonica species has lots of hybrids.

This Camellia bush grows under the shade of a large Cotoneaster tree. The flowers make a spectacular display every Winter, and are a welcome sight.
