ELECTRICITY If a bar of soft iron be wrapped with insulated wire (wire coveredwith a nonconductor) and a current of electricity be sent through thewire, the iron bar becomes magnetized while the current passes throughthe conductor, but loses its magnetism when the current ceases to a magnet is called an electro-magnet.
