Minng Tombs, China - October 2006; Most of of the Ming tombs are located in a cluster near Beijing and collectively known as the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty. From the early 15th Century Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming dynasty emperors were buried in this area. This image shows protecting statuary on the roof of one of the main mausoleum buildings, contrasting nicely with what looks like nearby oak leaves.
