Wind turbines by the sea. These turbines have been built by the coast to take advantage of the wind from the sea. This wind moves the blades of each turbine, rotating them to generate electricity. This is an environmentally-friendly source of energy, as it releases no toxic waste products and does not rely on a limited resource (such as oil) for fuel. These wind turbines are at the Port of Blyth, Northumberland, England. Nine WindMaster 300 wind turbines came online here in January 1993 with a power capacity of megawatts (MW).
