It was at this site in Quebec City, Canada, that Revolutionary general Benedict Arnold was attacked and wounded by British soldiers in December 1775. Arnold commanded in the Quebec Campaign, in which the Colonials hoped to persuade the Canadians to support them against the British. After Arnold was wounded in the knee, his troops continued fighting, but lost to British General Guy Carleton.
