The tumefaction is either so slight that theanatomical details of the inner tympanic wall are easily recog-nisable, or so considerable that all the depressions in this wallare erased, giving it the appearance of an even red the growth of this part of the tympanic cavity is veryexcessive the mucous membrane may even extend through theperforation above the surface of the membrana tympani. Some-times numerous small and large granulations and polypi are.
