Hitter's White Spine Cncumber.— This is quite a marked improvement over the White Spine usually sold. We do not claim that this is any- thing new only a strain of White Spine that by careful selection for a number of years has been improved with a view to use for forcing in hot-houses and frames. It is uniformly straight, a clear, rich green in color, with a few white spines. The cucumbers are set in profusion close to the hill, in fact in productiveness it ranks first. While this is the best cucumber for mar- ket and shipping, there is no better variety for the home garden.
