Body imaging. Composite image of several methods used to visualise the anatomy of the human body. The techniques seen here are X-rays (radiography), dissection and artworks. X-rays (like the pelvis, hands, knees, shoulders and lower spine) show body tissues by their differing transmission of X-rays. This technique may be used to diagnose medical disorders. The thigh at left has been dissected vertically. The various artworks include the arm muscles (left), the arm blood vessels (right), the head muscles, the digestive system and the skin (lower leg at right).
