Hubbard at Chicago, whom he had lastseen sixteen years before at the Philadelphia Centennial whereHubbard assisted Bell in exhibiting the first telephone. Great changes have taken place since 1892. The telephonecircuits between New York and Chicago have increased many-fold and the physical make-up of the circuits has been greatlyaltered. With the aid of the accompanying chart it is inter-esting to retrace the steps, observing the growth which hastaken place as well as the changes in the transmission very important developments in long distance transmis-sion are reflected in this history.
