Strip of bobbin lace with hearts scatter pattern and pine cone motif under thin zigzag line, Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. A thin zigzag line runs beneath a pattern of four rows of hearts, with a pinecone-shaped motif hanging below each zigzag valley and hanging down to the bottom of the strip. Between the pine cone motifs is an openwork decorative border along the underside of the strip, decorated with blocks made in shape. The motifs are connected by a nice mesh ground, a Mechelen ground. The sparingly full work is made in linen with thicker and shiny contour threads.
